Plant City ZIP Directory Areas
Five postal codes form the official Plant City cluster, but each describes mail delivery rather than a firm civic boundary. Central and downtown addresses tend to use 33563. The codes extending north, east, and south take in broad rural ground as well as incorporated streets. That distinction matters when a search is meant to identify the office holding a parcel, permit, or voting record. Use the table as an orientation tool, then confirm an exact address through the USPS ZIP Code Lookup and check the parcel municipality.
| ZIP Code | Areas Covered | Post Office | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 33563 | Central and downtown Plant City, plus nearby delivery territory | Plant City delivery | Greatly expanded on July 1, 2002 |
| 33564 | Plant City postal name | Historically PO-box inventory | Confirm current use for an exact address |
| 33565 | North and northeast rural Plant City, including Knights-area territory | Plant City delivery | Extends beyond city limits |
| 33566 | South and east Plant City, including the Walden Woods area | Main post office, 2501 Walden Woods Drive | Includes city and unincorporated territory |
| 33567 | South and southeast rural Plant City and Hopewell-area territory | Plant City delivery | Postal name is broader than city limits |
The descriptions are approximate. A postal label can cross a subdivision, a road, or the Plant City line. The main post office is listed at 2501 Walden Woods Drive in 33566, with telephone 813-719-6733. Historical sources describe 33564 as a PO-box code, yet the verified 2002 bulletin moved its PO boxes to 33563. It should not be treated as a current PO-box-only code without a fresh USPS check.
Plant City ZIP Shift of 2002
The USPS Postal Bulletin documents a major change effective July 1, 2002. USPS placed 7,457 deliveries formerly in 33566, 2,340 formerly in 33567, and 475 formerly in 33565 into 33563. It also shifted 1,942 post-office boxes from 33564 into 33563. This is more than postal trivia. A deed mailing address, directory listing, permit file, or business filing created before the change may carry the old code while the street and building remain the same.
For records near the cutoff, search the street and number both with and without a ZIP. Try the pre-change code when the newer one fails. Do not rewrite a historical citation to match modern mail. Keep the code printed on the source, note the effective date, and connect the address through its parcel folio or deed legal description. That preserves evidence instead of hiding a real change in the Plant City ZIP code directory.
Note: A changed last line does not, by itself, show that a person or property moved.
Search Plant City Residents by ZIP
A ZIP-wide resident search is not available from every official system. USPS verifies delivery codes, not people. The Hillsborough County Property Appraiser search works best with an exact address, owner, or folio and then shows the parcel municipality and map. Florida's DBPR license search accepts city and county criteria and may display a ZIP in results. The FDLE registry offers an express ZIP-wide neighborhood mode. By contrast, the county voter self-lookup is identity based and cannot be browsed as a public ZIP household list.
- Run USPS exact-address mode. City-and-state mode identifies the recognized cluster, while exact mode resolves one delivery point.
- Open the address in HCPA. Record its folio, situs address, municipality, and map position before drawing a city-jurisdiction conclusion.
- Use only an official ZIP-capable search that fits the question. DBPR concerns license records, while FDLE's neighborhood mode concerns its own registry.
- For voter data, use the Supervisor's lawful request channel and ask whether a defined standard or custom extract fits the need. Protected rows remain excluded.
A ZIP result narrows geography but does not prove residence. A license address may be a professional location, and an owner mailing address may be outside the parcel. Once the code narrows to a street, use the Plant City street directory for address-level work rather than treating a broad postal code as a household roll.
Plant City USPS Lookup Fields
The official USPS tool has two useful paths. City and State mode returns ZIP codes associated with Plant City. Address mode standardizes one delivery address and returns its ZIP. A third path finds cities associated with a known code. Those modes answer different questions, so a general city result should never replace an exact-address result.
| Lookup mode | Input | Useful result |
|---|---|---|
| By Address | Street, city, state | Standardized address and exact ZIP |
| By City and State | Plant City, Florida | Recognized postal-code cluster |
| Cities by ZIP | Known five-digit code | Associated city naming |

Its controls reinforce the key distinction between finding all codes attached to a city name and verifying the code for one address.
Three Plant City Address Types
Public records can attach three different addresses to the same property. HCPA's situs address marks the physical parcel. The owner mailing address shows where tax notices go and may be elsewhere. A deed's legal description identifies land through a subdivision, lot and block, or metes-and-bounds wording. The legal description is often the stable bridge when a ZIP or street number changes.
This distinction keeps the Plant City ZIP code directory honest. A mailing address is not proof that an owner occupies the site. A situs label does not identify every person there. A legal description does not supply a postal delivery code. Check the field label and the record date before combining facts from the assessor and deed index.
Plant City ZIPs Versus Limits
Plant City is an incorporated city in eastern Hillsborough County, while its postal territory reaches into unincorporated rural land. An envelope marked Plant City may therefore point to a county parcel outside municipal limits. This affects records access. The city Building Division handles permits for city parcels, while unincorporated postal addresses belong with Hillsborough County Development Services. Countywide deeds, ownership, courts, and voter records stay with their county custodians regardless of the mailing name.
- ZIP and ZIP+4
- A five-digit ZIP identifies a delivery area. ZIP+4 adds a smaller delivery segment, such as one side of a block or a group of boxes.
- PO-box ZIP
- A code assigned chiefly to post-office boxes rather than ordinary street delivery.
- Unique ZIP
- A code reserved for one high-volume organization. No unique Plant City code was verified in the research.
- Carrier route
- The sequence or territory served by one postal carrier. It does not equal a city district.
A school zone, election district, police area, and ZIP can also have different edges. Use the parcel municipality for jurisdiction and the USPS result for mail. The mismatch is normal, especially in 33565, 33566, and 33567.
Official Plant City ZIP Searches
ZIP filters in official databases cover only the record set each office keeps. The DBPR tool can help locate a licensed professional or business affiliation by city and county. Its result proves a license record and public contact, not a home. The screenshot below is linked to the Florida DBPR license search.
The name, license type, and place fields make it useful after a postal area is known, but all displayed addresses must retain their source labels.
The Florida Department of Corrections search is a separate custody record source. Its captured screen appears below.
A corrections entry must be read with its status and update date. It is not a general resident directory, and a historical address should never be presented as current without corroboration.
Plant City ZIP Record Fallbacks
When an online field cannot search by ZIP, switch methods. HCPA staff can help identify a folio from a normalized address by phone or in person, though they do not conduct legal title research. A defined historic parcel card or tax-roll extract may be requested under Florida chapter 119. Older county tax rolls survive from 1883, which can supply owner-by-year evidence when a modern search box does not.
Voter information has its own channels. The Hillsborough voter lookup is for an individual record and uses three identifiers. The Supervisor also accepts data requests for six standard recurring reports, delivered in text-delimited or Excel form, and can explain whether a custom geographic extract is available and chargeable. Protected addresses and identifiers stay out. Registration residence is self-reported election data, not proof of daily occupancy.
Boundary check. Verify the USPS delivery code and HCPA municipality separately before choosing a city or county office.
